The indoor farmers market started in June of 2025. Market Street Mercantile quickly outgrew their first space and moved to a larger building in December 2025. The market was started because Talley and her sister wanted to meal prep/family style/ business with baked goods, canned goods, and more made with local ingredients and lots of love. To do that they needed an indoor space.
It can be described as a farmers market mixed with a storefront. Offering a welcoming and easy process has contributed to the success of the Market and encouraging the community to join. The ultimate goal is for all involved to grow together and be a local market for the community.
Market Street Mercantile offers a home and hub for small businesses of local made or grown goods as an indoor, year-round farmers market. The facilitators, Talley and Kristyn, of the market have their own small business (Jean & Jo) in the market offering meals made with local ingredients. Such as baked goods, organic dried goods & spices and currently building up for a bulk refillery. Plus, the many other makers, bakers, & growers who show up every week at the farmer’s market.
