The Greater Wabash Food Council promotes agriculture and technology to secure food access and environmental sustainability. Supporting Farm2School and Farm2Table programs in Edwards, Lawrence, Richland, Wabash, Wayne, & White counties in SE Illinois.
The services people currently know them for are the farmers market support, Farm2School, and advocating for local food and these all operate under our registered DBA, Greater Wabash Food Council. Those efforts are primarily business-to-consumer.
Harvest Link is a 501(c)(3) and is focused primarily on the delivery service launching soon and the co-packing kitchen we’re planning to launch next year. That will all be middle-of-the-supply-chain, business-to-business work.
During 2026, Harvest Link will establish pickup and drop-off locations across Crawford, Edwards, Lawrence, Richland, Wabash, Wayne, and White counties in southeastern Illinois to support the continued growth of their network. As distribution expands to small grocery stores, schools, nursing homes, and hospitals, local farmers will gain reliable market access and a viable business model for producing specialty crops.
Harvest Link is developing a new facility designed to transform how local food moves across Illinois. By providing co-packing, aggregation, and distribution infrastructure, this HUB strategically positioned to support coordinated distribution from Cairo to Chicago in about two-hour increments, reducing food miles while increasing market access and increasing margins for farmers.
